An experienced saxophone player & teacher, I began repairing in a small way over 20 years ago, after being dissatisfied with the quality of work done on my own instruments. Courses at Merton College in 1996-98 were followed by an Advanced Course in Brass and Woodwind at the Malden School of Musical Instrument Repair. In 2000 I moved into full-time repair as a Professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR). I have a fully-equipped workshop, including engineering lathe, magnahelic leak detection machine, dent removal tools, polishing machines and ultrasonic cleaning tanks. I can usually make any necessary obsolete or custom-designed parts in-house. I have invested in many specialist tools and jigs, allowing efficient and professional work in-house on the whole range of woodwind and brass instruments. Anything from a 'quick fix' to full overhaul and restoration.
